Why Alzheimer's?
Funds raised each year by the "Stand by Me" Golf Tournament are used throughout Eastern North Carolina to provide programs and services to families affected by Alzheimer's disease. This disease can be found in every socioeconomic group, race and culture. It can cause not only mental and physical devastation to the patient and family but also potential financial ruin. Thanks to your generous contributions, sponsorships and participation as players last June, the tournament raised $40,000. These funds helped provide lending libraries of books and videos, individual and family counseling, support groups, an 800 help line, newsletters, a statewide educational conference, workshops, training of families, professional long-term care, and many other programs and services in Eastern North Carolina.
